Shells
If
you are into collecting sea shells, Sanibel
Island in
Southwest
Florida has to be the top spot on your
places to visit.
There are nothing but shells on
this island, but how do you start collecting
them?
'Well, I think one of the best
options is to make sure you have something you have something where you can put
your shells on, said Jose Leal of the Bailey Matthews Museum. A good idea is to
bring plastic bags, or better yet, a bucket where you can store the shells you
collect. It's also good if you plan on wading in shallow water, you don't know
what's down there, you're going to put something on your feet. I think it's
pretty instinctive, if you will. People will have their attention grabbed by
anything unusual.'
Bailey said the best, freshesr
shells are near rocks, which act as a barrier that could help accumulate
shells.
You
can find out the names of the shells you collect at the Bailey Matthews
museum.
The
museum is a great place to see some of the shells you can t easily find on the
beach. If you'd like to check out the Bailey Matthews shell museum or you want
to go on a shell finding mission at Bowman beach, just grab your car keys, your
boots and your bucket and head towards Sanibel
Island.
Sanibel
Island is located on the
Southwest
Florida coast. From
Orlando,
take I-4 towards Tampa
and jump on Interstate 75 South toward
Naples.
